New Jersey Medicaid reimbursement rates for primary care and mental health services must equal at least 100% of Medicare Part B payment rates, effective July 1, 2026

Covered primary care providers include physicians in family medicine, internal medicine, pediatrics, and OB/GYN, as well as advance practice nurses, physician assistants, and licensed midwives

Mental health services coverage extends to licensed clinical social workers, psychologists, professional counselors, marriage and family therapists, clinical alcohol and drug counselors, and psychiatrists

Rate requirements apply to both fee-for-service and managed care Medicaid delivery systems, with a floor provision preventing any rate decreases from prior fiscal year levels

Commissioner of Human Services must submit a report within one year on implementation impacts, including changes in access and quality of care, plus recommendations for rate enhancements in underserved areas
