Administrative Office of the Courts must develop policies requiring translation of indictment pleadings, plea agreements, motions, and other pertinent criminal court documents into the primary language of defendants, witnesses, or legal guardians with decision-making authority.

Translation services must be implemented for nine specified languages: Spanish, Chinese, Portuguese, Italian, Korean, Hindi, Arabic, Haitian Creole, and French.

Courthouses must post conspicuous signs in waiting rooms, reception areas, and entry points informing the public of their right to translated court documents and language assistance services.

Signs must be displayed in English, Spanish, and other languages the Administrative Office of the Courts determines necessary, inviting limited English proficiency individuals to identify themselves for language services.

Court interpreters may assist with written translation of documents when practicable, with the Administrative Office determining which specific documents require translation based on community needs.
