Prohibits the Governor from restricting the right to assemble for worship during any state of emergency or public health emergency declaration in New Jersey

Protects the ability to travel to and from places of worship during emergency declarations

Bars civil or criminal penalties and administrative sanctions against religious institutions or individuals for exercising their religion during emergencies

Allows the Governor to require religious organizations to comply with general health, safety, or occupancy requirements that apply equally to all essential services and businesses

Takes effect immediately upon enactment and supplements existing emergency powers laws (P.L.1942, c.251 and P.L.2005, c.222)
