Entities receiving grants from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts are prohibited from scheduling educational courses, classes, or lectures on days when the local school district is closed for religious holidays

The restriction applies for 12 months following receipt of the grant and covers both in-person and online educational programming

For online courses, the scheduling restriction is based on the school district where the grant recipient entity is located

The prohibition applies regardless of whether the course is offered for a fee or free of charge

The bill amends P.L.1966, c.214 (C.52:16A-27) and would take effect immediately upon enactment
