New Jersey Legislature unequivocally condemns all forms of anti-Semitism and rejects attempts to justify anti-Jewish hatred in the state, nationally, and worldwide.

New Jersey ranked second in the nation for anti-Semitic incidents for three consecutive years, with 370 incidents in 2021 representing 14% of all U.S. incidents and a 25% increase from 2020.

Anti-Semitic incidents at Jewish institutions in New Jersey increased 76% in 2021 (44 incidents across 13 counties), while school incidents rose 110% to 82 incidents.

The resolution supports expanded Holocaust education programs to increase awareness, counter prejudice, and teach lessons about genocide and intolerance.

Citizens and government entities are called upon to remain vigilant in preventing and reporting anti-Semitism, hate crimes, and violations of religious freedom.
