New Jersey Legislature urges Congress to enact S. 1410, the "Find It Early Act," introduced by Senator Amy Klobuchar on April 10, 2025

The federal bill would require all health insurance plans to cover breast cancer screenings and diagnostic imaging (mammograms, ultrasounds, and MRIs) at no cost for women with dense breasts or other breast cancer risk factors

Nearly half of women over age 40 have dense breast tissue, which can obscure mammogram imaging and contributed to an estimated 267,000 undetected breast cancer cases in 2021

Early detection dramatically improves survival rates: 99% five-year survival when breast cancer is diagnosed before spreading versus approximately 30% when diagnosed after spreading to distant organs

Copies of the resolution will be transmitted to Congressional leadership and all New Jersey members of Congress
