Creates the Dementia Care Specialist Program within the Aging and Long-Term Services Department to support individuals with dementia and their families through care coordination, early detection, caregiver education, and workforce training

Dementia care specialists will provide cognitive assessments, care planning, community outreach, and help develop dementia-capable policies within communities, clinics, and institutions statewide

Requires collaboration with the Health Care Authority, Department of Health, Indian Affairs Department, area agencies on aging, tribal nations, and community-based organizations

Appropriates $1,000,000 from the general fund for fiscal years 2027-2029, with unexpended balances reverting to the general fund

Mandates an interim report by October 1, 2028 and a final report by July 1, 2029 covering geographic distribution, populations served, workforce training, health outcomes, and cost savings
