Written notice must detail the member's failures and provide at least 30 days for remedial action, with copies sent to the local school board and superintendent

Secretary may suspend a board member from office if remedial action is not taken within the specified timeframe, with suspension lasting until remedial action is completed

Suspended members have the right to request a hearing under the Administrative Procedures Act and may appeal final decisions in court

During a suspension, the secretary or designee may only assume the suspended member's duties to break a deadlock vote on the district's annual budget approval
