Peace officers must carry identifying credentials showing name, rank, and law enforcement agency while on duty, display this information on their outermost clothing, and present credentials to the public upon request

Peace officers are prohibited from wearing face coverings while interacting with the public, except for medical-grade masks to prevent airborne disease transmission or smoke protection masks during wildfire emergencies

Officers may not knowingly conceal their identity or their agency's name while on duty

Exceptions apply for officers conducting sanctioned undercover operations, performing SWAT team responsibilities, or conducting explosive recovery and disposal operations

Violation of these requirements constitutes a misdemeanor, and the bill is declared an emergency to take effect immediately
