Employers on public works construction projects must contribute to approved apprentice and training programs in New Mexico or to the public works apprentice and training fund administered by the workforce solutions department

Contribution amounts must match apprentice and training contributions required in wage rate determinations made by the department

For street, highway, bridge, road, utility, and light engineering public works projects, the contribution rate shall be set to zero for any trade classification lacking an approved apprentice and training program

The workforce solutions department administers the act, collecting contributions, reviewing compliance statements and certified payroll reports, investigating noncompliance, and imposing penalties
