Violations carry a civil penalty of $500 per occurrence, assessed by the Attorney General

The Attorney General or district attorneys (with AG permission) may bring civil actions in district court to recover penalties

All collected civil penalties will be deposited into the current school fund

Effective date is July 1, 2027
