Prevailing defendants in libel, slander, invasion of privacy, or similar tort lawsuits may recover damages, treble damages, attorney fees, and costs from the plaintiff

Recovery is available when the lawsuit targeted a statement that was made without malice, is factually true, and concerns sexual assault, sexual harassment, or unlawful discriminatory practices experienced by the defendant

Unlawful discriminatory practices are defined by reference to Section 28-1-7 NMSA 1978 (New Mexico Human Rights Act)

Amends existing law (Section 41-7-1 NMSA 1978) that limits plaintiffs to one cause of action for damages based on a single publication, exhibition, or utterance
