Allows persons 18 years or older who are not prohibited by federal or state law from possessing firearms to carry loaded firearms, either concealed or openly, without a permit

Removes firearms from the legal definition of "deadly weapon" in New Mexico's Criminal Code, meaning firearms would no longer be classified alongside daggers, brass knuckles, switchblades, and other weapons

Repeals existing statutes (Sections 30-7-2.2 through 30-7-3 NMSA 1978) related to firearm carry regulations

Amends the unlawful carrying of a deadly weapon statute to apply only to non-firearm deadly weapons, removing references to "concealed loaded firearm"

Removes firearms from the prohibition on carrying weapons while boarding buses, leaving only non-firearm deadly weapons subject to that restriction
