Declares January 29, 2026 as "New Mexico TRIO Programs Day" in the House of Representatives

TRIO programs are federally funded U.S. Department of Education initiatives helping first-generation, low-income students access higher education, originating with Upward Bound (1964), Educational Talent Search (1965), and Student Support Services (1968)

New Mexico currently operates 38 TRIO programs that receive over $12.5 million in annual federal funding and serve nearly 10,000 students

2026 marks the 62nd anniversary of TRIO programs, and New Mexico was among the first states to implement them
