Clarifies that absences allowed under a student's Individualized Education Program (IEP) or accommodations under Section 504, the Americans with Disabilities Act, or the Human Rights Act are excused absences

Requires the Public Education Department to develop and publish written guidance for school districts on implementing the Attendance for Success Act, including guidance on allowable absences

Removes the definition of "medical absence" as a separate category and removes local school board authority to establish additional allowable excuses beyond those specified in state law

Establishes that pregnant or parenting students may be absent for four consecutive or nonconsecutive days with documentation, plus at least ten consecutive days upon the birth of their child

Specifies that allowable absences under the Act shall not count toward determining whether a student is excessively absent for enforcement purposes
