Medicare supplement policy issuers must offer annual open enrollment periods to all eligible policyholders age 65 and older, beginning on the policyholder's birthday month and lasting at least 60 days

During open enrollment, policyholders may purchase any Medicare supplement policy of equal or lesser value, and issuers cannot deny coverage or discriminate on pricing based on health status, claims history, or medical conditions

New policies obtained during open enrollment cannot exclude preexisting conditions that were covered under the policyholder's previous Medicare supplement policy

Issuers must notify policyholders 30-60 days before their open enrollment period begins, including enrollment dates, policyholder rights, and any policy modifications or premium adjustments
