School districts and charter schools must prohibit student use of wireless communication devices during the entire school day, expanding the current restriction from instructional hours only

Wireless communication device definition expanded to include cameras and video cameras, in addition to cellular phones, smartphones, smartwatches, tablets, laptops, and gaming devices

Exceptions allowed for device use with administrator or teacher prior consent for educational purposes, emergencies, health care management, medical necessity, disability accommodations, or individualized education programs

Education Technology Infrastructure Fund may provide grants up to $1,000,000 annually to schools implementing the wireless device policy; school districts must have a compliant policy to receive education technology infrastructure grants

Implementation phased by grade level: grades 6-8 starting 2026-2027 school year, grades 9-12 starting 2027-2028, and grades K-5 starting 2028-2029
