Battery upon a school employee upgraded from fourth degree to third degree felony; aggravated battery inflicting great bodily harm upgraded from third degree to second degree felony

Creates new crimes of assault and battery on a school campus (against any person, not just employees): assault is a fourth degree felony, aggravated assault is a third degree felony, battery is a fourth degree felony, aggravated battery is a second or third degree felony depending on severity

Expands "serious youthful offender" definition to include individuals ages 15-18 charged with assault, aggravated assault, battery, or aggravated battery on a school campus, in addition to first degree murder

School employees covered include public school board members, administrators, teachers, and other board employees performing their duties
