NM SB69

Requires motor vehicles to display registration plates on both the front and rear of the vehicle, changing New Mexico from a single rear-plate state to a two-plate state

Exempts trailers, tractors, manufactured homes, motorcycles, and off-highway motor vehicles, which will continue to require only one rear plate

Amends multiple sections of the Motor Vehicle Code (Sections 66-3-10, 66-3-14, 66-3-17, 66-3-18, 66-3-19, 66-3-104, 66-3-406, 66-3-407, and 66-3-407.1 NMSA 1978) to change references from singular "plate" to plural "plates"

Removes prior provision allowing expired special registration plates to be displayed on the front of vehicles

Effective date is January 1, 2027
