Requests the Department of Transportation to consider naming the United States Highway 285 bypass (Roswell bypass) in honor of Nancy Lopez, a professional golfer from Roswell

Nancy Lopez won 48 LPGA tournaments and was named LPGA Player of the Year four times (1978, 1979, 1985, and 1988)

Lopez was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 1987, LPGA Hall of Fame in 1989, and New Mexico Sports Hall of Fame in 2000

In her 1978 rookie season, Lopez won nine tournaments including five consecutive, earning Rookie of the Year, Player of the Year, and AP Female Athlete of the Year honors

A copy of the memorial would be transmitted to the Secretary of Transportation
