District boards of health in counties with populations of 100,000-700,000 (currently only Washoe County) may elect by majority vote to regulate emergency medical services within their district, similar to Clark County's authority

Minimum age for licensure as an ambulance/air ambulance attendant or certification as an emergency medical technician is lowered to 16 years old

Persons participating in EMT, advanced EMT, or paramedic training programs may ride in ambulances without an attendant license, provided the ambulance is otherwise properly staffed and the trainee does not provide patient care or drive

Trauma treatment programs remain under State Board of Health authority even if a district board elects to regulate other EMS functions
