Hospice care programs must obtain informed, written consent from patients or representatives for all treatment and care decisions, with consent documents retained for at least 5 years after care ends

Programs must provide written notice of contact information, operating hours, and the patient's right to file complaints with the Division of Public and Behavioral Health upon admission

Patients or representatives must receive at least 7 days written notice before a hospice program terminates care or ceases operations

Establishes that hospice patients have a right to receive medical, nursing, psychological, pastoral care, and social services, with programs required to explain available services within 15 days of enrollment

Effective January 1, 2026, for all operational purposes
