Prohibits intentionally releasing, organizing the release of, or causing the release of balloons inflated with gas lighter than air (such as helium)

Violations subject to civil penalty up to $250, recoverable through civil action by the Attorney General, district attorney, or city attorney

Defines "balloon" as those made of nonbiodegradable material or biodegradable material requiring more than 5 minutes of air or water contact to degrade

Exempts hot air balloons that are recovered after launching, balloons used for governmental or scientific research, and balloons released indoors

Nevada joins at least 10 other states with similar balloon release prohibitions, including California, Florida, and Virginia
