Changes parental consent for sexuality education courses (covering HIV, human reproductive system, communicable diseases, and sexual responsibility) from an opt-in system requiring consent to an opt-out system where parents must submit a form to refuse participation

Requires school districts to provide written notice to parents at least 4 weeks after the start of the school year or 4 weeks before the course begins, whichever is earlier

Allows school districts to make the opt-out form available on their secure website for electronic signature and include it with online school registration

Requires the opt-out form to notify parents they may refuse or withdraw permission for their child to attend sexuality education at any time during the school year

Effective date: July 1, 2025
