Workers performing custom fabrication for public works must be paid prevailing wages, regardless of the location where the fabrication occurs, with "custom fabrication" defined as manufacturing nonstandard goods or materials for a specific project (including plumbing, HVAC, sheet metal, and signage components).

Contractors seeking bidding preferences on public works in counties with 100,000+ population (Clark and Washoe Counties) must certify that all nonstandard goods or materials will be custom fabricated in Nevada and maintain inspection records.

Prevailing wage requirements for custom fabrication workers extend to performance contracts entered into by local governments and state agencies, as well as projects financed by the Tahoe-Douglas Visitor's Authority.

The new prevailing wage requirements do not apply to contracts awarded before January 1, 2026, with the substantive provisions taking effect on that date.
