Persons under 21 years of age are prohibited from possessing semiautomatic shotguns or semiautomatic centerfire rifles, with violations classified as a gross misdemeanor

Selling or bartering semiautomatic centerfire rifles or semiautomatic shotguns to persons under 21 is a category B felony punishable by 1-6 years in state prison and up to $5,000 fine

Exemptions apply to military members, veterans with honorable discharge, law enforcement officers, and persons 18-20 who temporarily use these firearms at authorized shooting ranges, competitions, or while lawfully hunting with proper licenses

Children ages 14-17 with valid hunting licenses are now prohibited from possessing semiautomatic shotguns or semiautomatic centerfire rifles, and rifles/shotguns kept at home must be stored unloaded in securely locked containers
