Prohibits the use of artificial intelligence in any equipment used for voting, ballot processing, or ballot counting, including tabulating equipment, ballot marking devices, and signature verification systems

Requires published campaign materials generated using AI to include the disclosure: "This communication was generated using artificial intelligence"

Mandates that campaign materials containing materially deceptive depictions of candidates (altered physical appearance, fabricated actions, or modified image qualities) include a disclosure stating the material has been manipulated

Bans distribution of synthetic media containing deceptive deepfakes of candidates within 90 days of an election, with exceptions for content with clear disclaimers, bona fide news coverage, satire/parody, and internet service providers

Violations are classified as misdemeanors, candidates depicted in deepfakes may seek injunctive relief in district court, and the substantive provisions take effect January 1, 2026
