Shifts payment responsibility for forensic medical examinations from counties to the Nevada Department of Health and Human Services, which will reimburse health care facilities within 60 days of receiving a completed application

Expands covered victims to include sexual assault, domestic violence, strangulation, and human trafficking survivors, all of whom cannot be charged directly for forensic examination costs

Eliminates the requirement to file a law enforcement report as a prerequisite for receiving a forensic medical examination

Requires the Department to adopt regulations establishing reimbursement procedures compliant with HIPAA and to annually review reimbursement amounts

Effective October 1, 2025, with immediate effect upon passage for regulatory preparation
