Members of the Nevada state militia on state active duty are deemed to be on duty 24 hours a day for each day of active duty for purposes of industrial insurance coverage

Nevada National Guard members on state active duty are classified as state employees under the Nevada Industrial Insurance Act (NRS chapters 616A-616D)

Militia members or their dependents are entitled to workers' compensation from the State of Nevada if wounded, injured, disabled, or killed while on state active duty, or if a prior condition is aggravated during active duty

Compensation is calculated based on the member's average income from all sources during the year preceding injury, death, or disability onset, capped at statutory maximums

Coverage does not apply to members already receiving federal compensation for injuries arising from duties under Title 10 or Title 32 of the U.S. Code, unless the condition is an aggravation of a previous federal service-related injury
