Temporary domestic violence protection orders served on incarcerated individuals must inform them they can contest an extended order by filing a written response within 14 calendar days of receiving service

The written response need only state whether the incarcerated person contests the issuance of an extended order and must follow the facility's filing procedures

If an incarcerated person fails to file a written response within 14 days and remains in custody at the hearing date, the court may hold the hearing without them and grant an extended order without their input

Amends NRS 33.030 to add these notification requirements to temporary orders issued when an application for an extended order is filed simultaneously

Applies to protection orders issued on or after October 1, 2025
