Regional transportation commissions in counties with populations of 100,000 or more (currently Clark and Washoe Counties) must install and maintain safety infrastructure for transit operators, including barriers to protect operator workstations and panic buttons

Commissions must install and maintain signage informing the public about criminal penalties for assault and battery against transit operators under NRS 200.471 and NRS 200.481

"Transit operator" is defined as a person with a commercial driver's license who operates a bus or other vehicle as part of a public mass transportation system

Local governments are exempt from NRS 354.599 limitations regarding additional expenses incurred to comply with these requirements
