Nevada would join the Cosmetology Licensure Compact, allowing cosmetologists licensed in member states to obtain a multistate license to practice across all participating states without obtaining separate licenses in each state

Compact becomes effective when enacted by seven states; licensees must hold an active, unencumbered license in their home state and agree to follow scope of practice laws in each state where they provide services

Creates the Cosmetology Licensure Compact Commission, a joint government agency with authority to adopt rules, levy annual assessments on member states, impose fees on licensees, and maintain a data system for sharing licensure and disciplinary information

Each member state retains sole authority over educational requirements, discipline within its borders, and scope of practice definitions; the home state has exclusive power to take adverse action against a multistate license

Active military members and their spouses may designate a home state where they hold a current license and retain that designation during active duty assignments, regardless of where stationed
