Council to Establish Academic Standards prohibited from repealing, reducing priority of, or substantially weakening content standards related to these protected subject areas

Governing bodies and supervisors prohibited from taking adverse employment actions against educators based on sex, race, religion, political affiliation, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or independent political/religious/social participation

Governing body members who violate employment protections guilty of misdemeanor with fine up to $1,000; supervisors who violate must be terminated regardless of collective bargaining agreements
