County and city clerks must respond to Secretary of State requests for election cycle information within 2 working days, either providing the data or a written explanation of when it will be available.

Candidates for elected public offices (excluding federal positions) must be registered to vote in the state, district, county, township, or area they seek to represent, in addition to existing residency requirements.

Declarations of candidacy, residency, and eligibility are designated as public records and must be made available electronically by filing officers.

Candidates filing declarations must attest under penalty of perjury to the city/town and county where they are registered to vote in Nevada; false statements constitute a gross misdemeanor.

The voter registration requirement does not apply to persons already holding elected office as of October 1, 2025, but applies to all candidates filing after that date.
