Allows healthcare providers to receive insurance reimbursement directly for services they provide, in addition to the existing right of the insured patient to receive reimbursement

Applies to multiple provider types including acupuncturists, psychologists, marriage and family therapists, clinical professional counselors, social workers, podiatrists, chiropractic physicians, clinical alcohol and drug counselors, and certain registered nurses

Extends to individual health insurance, group health insurance, nonprofit hospital/medical/dental service corporation contracts, and health maintenance organization plans

Authorizes patients under nonprofit hospital/medical/dental service contracts and HMO health care plans to assign their benefit rights to their healthcare provider

Becomes effective January 1, 2026
