School districts and charter schools may provide a $2,500 annual stipend to teachers assigned to bilingual education programs who hold the required endorsement or are currently enrolled in a program to obtain the endorsement.

Teachers may receive the stipend only once per school year, and in large districts (over 100,000 students, currently Clark County) or charter schools, stipends must be paid from the local school precinct or charter school budget.

The Commission on Professional Standards in Education must adopt regulations requiring teachers to obtain a bilingual education endorsement to teach pupils enrolled in bilingual education programs.

School districts and charter schools must include in their annual reports the number of employees who received the bilingual education stipend in the current and preceding fiscal years.

The act becomes effective July 1, 2025.
