State Contractors' Board authorized to issue restricted licenses for residential remodeling and improvement work on existing single-family homes up to 3 stories above ground and 1 story below, with a monetary limit of $7,000 (including labor and materials) or higher as determined by the Board

Applicants must have at least 2 years of trade experience (through work, apprenticeship, or accredited training programs) and complete a business counseling course within the year preceding application

Restricted license holders must file a surety bond or cash deposit of at least $2,000; the license is valid for 2 years and renewable

After holding a restricted license for 2 or more years with no open or unresolved complaints, holders may apply for a full contractor's license

State Contractors' Board must adopt regulations for restricted license issuance and renewal by January 1, 2027
