Veterans who served on a military unit awarded the Presidential Unit Citation may apply for up to two sets of special license plates, with unique designs based on each Armed Forces branch's service ribbon for the citation

No additional fees beyond standard registration and license fees required for issuance or renewal; plates may be combined with personalized prestige plates for applicable fees

Eligible veterans with qualifying service-connected disabilities receiving U.S. compensation may have the international symbol of access inscribed on their plates, exempting them from state and local parking fees (except federal) and allowing use of handicapped parking spaces

Plates are exempt from the minimum application requirements, design limits, and approval processes that apply to other special license plates under existing law

Plates may only be used on private passenger vehicles, noncommercial trucks, or motor homes; cannot be issued for full trailers or semitrailers (except recreational vehicles and travel trailers)
