Attorney General must appoint a Special Counsel for the Prevention of Gun Violence who serves at the Attorney General's pleasure and advises on gun violence prevention matters, including effectiveness of state laws and policy strategies

Special Counsel must collaborate with professors and researchers on gun violence prevention research, assist with educational campaigns on firearm safety and suicide prevention, and collect data on arrests and prosecutions under NRS 202.3625 to 202.3645

Special Counsel may establish a grant program for community-based organizations conducting gun violence prevention initiatives, including hospital-based violence intervention programs, street outreach, and violence interruption programs

Attorney General must submit biennial reports to the Legislature by January 1 of each odd-numbered year on the Special Counsel's activities and the state of gun violence prevention in Nevada

Effective date: July 1, 2025
