School districts and charter schools must develop policies allowing pupils with disabilities who have IEPs or Section 504 plans to receive medically necessary treatment from private instructional personnel (behavior analysts, speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, psychologists, clinical social workers) in school settings, with parental consent

School employees are prohibited from interfering with the ability of pupils with visual or hearing impairments to carry a cane, walking stick, or use a mobility device on school property

State Board of Education must prescribe minimum standards for Braille instruction and guidelines for integrating assistive technology into instruction for pupils with visual impairments

IEP teams for pupils with visual or hearing impairments must provide Braille instruction if parents request it, ensure necessary assistive technology services, and document the basis for placement decisions in the least restrictive environment

Private instructional personnel providing services in schools must carry professional liability insurance, undergo criminal background checks, and comply with FERPA and HIPAA privacy requirements
