Nevada would join the School Psychologist Interstate Licensure Compact, allowing school psychologists licensed in member states to obtain equivalent licenses to practice in other member states without duplicative requirements

Compact becomes effective when 7 states ratify it; currently only Colorado and West Virginia have ratified

Applicants for home state licensure must pass a qualifying national exam, complete 1,200 hours of supervised internship (at least 600 in a school setting), and graduate from an approved school psychology education program

Creates the School Psychologist Interstate Licensure Compact Commission as a joint governmental agency to administer the compact, establish rules, and facilitate information sharing between member states

Persons licensed through the compact would be exempt from Nevada's examination requirements for initial licensure, continuing education requirements, and course of study completion requirements otherwise required for licensure
