Defines "squatter" as a person who enters property without permission and occupies it without title or right, and explicitly excludes squatters from the legal definition of "tenant" for property possession proceedings

Reduces the timeframe for unlawful occupants to contest a lockout from 21 calendar days to 5 calendar days, and similarly reduces the property owner's obligation to store the occupant's personal property from 21 days to 5 days

Expands the crime of unlawful occupancy to apply to any dwelling where a person resides without owner permission, removing the previous requirement that the dwelling be "uninhabited or vacant"

Unlawful occupancy is punishable as a gross misdemeanor, escalating to a category D felony upon a third or subsequent conviction
