Board of Regents must waive registration fees, laboratory fees, and other mandatory fees for surviving spouses and children of U.S. Armed Forces members killed in the line of duty while on active duty

Surviving spouses and children of fallen service members are deemed Nevada residents for tuition purposes and cannot be charged out-of-state tuition at Nevada System of Higher Education institutions

Children may use the fee waiver for 10 years after turning 18 (or 10 years after enrollment if enrolled before 18); surviving spouses may use it for 10 years after the service member's death

Expands existing benefits for families of public safety officers killed in the line of duty to include surviving spouses (previously only covered dependent children) for undergraduate education expenses

Expands definition of "public safety officer killed in the line of duty" to include officers who die from injuries sustained while commuting to or from work, if that travel time is part of their shift under a collective bargaining agreement
