Commission on Professional Standards in Education must consider changes to improve access to teacher licensure and endorsements when adopting regulations, including streamlining procedures and simplifying the process for alternative route to licensure candidates

Eliminates the use of local assessments to determine whether a pupil has a reading deficiency; only state assessments will be used for this purpose

Pupils receiving reading intervention services may stop receiving those services once they achieve a score on the statewide assessment that meets the State Board of Education's established level for their grade

Eliminates the requirement for school district boards and charter school governing bodies to prepare annual reports on pupils receiving reading intervention services and intensive instruction

Only the State Board of Education may require public schools, school districts, or charter schools to report information about pupils receiving reading deficiency intervention services
