Health course standards must align with Department of Education social and emotional learning standards, include information on mental health promotion, provide culturally and age-appropriate mental health resources to pupils, and require evidence-based mental health curriculum (effective July 1, 2026)

Licensed teachers hired on or before July 1, 2027 must complete a Department-approved mental health education course by that date; teachers hired after must complete the course within their first year of employment (substitute teachers exempt)

School districts and charter schools must provide professional development training in mental health education through partnerships with higher education institutions or regional training programs, with rural areas and online options required through Nevada System of Higher Education partnerships

Public schools must maintain records of teacher completion of mental health education courses, subject to Department inspection

Professional development training for teachers and administrators must include mental health education and social and emotional learning standards developed by the Department (effective July 1, 2027)
