Authorizes the Clark County district board of health or State Board of Health (for other counties) to adopt regulations requiring EMTs, advanced EMTs, and paramedics to complete training on identifying, interacting with, and providing care to elderly persons and those with cognitive impairments

Required training topics include recognizing and interacting with elderly persons, identifying signs of cognitive impairment, using de-escalation strategies, and providing person-centered care

Training must be developed or delivered in collaboration with a nationally accredited or certified program with expertise in care for elderly and cognitively impaired persons

EMTs, advanced EMTs, and paramedics who complete this training are not held to a higher standard of care or greater legal duty than those who have not received the training

Applicants may fulfill the training requirement as part of their existing certification training program rather than completing separate additional training
