Injured employees with occupational lung or heart disease claims (firefighters, arson investigators, police officers) may seek treatment from out-of-panel physicians if fewer than 12 appropriate specialists on the Administrator's panel are accepting new patients and available within 30 days.

Employees or their health/casualty insurers who pay for such out-of-panel treatment may request full reimbursement from the employer's insurer, organization for managed care, or third-party administrator within 30 days of submitting the request.

Failure to reimburse within 30 days triggers a penalty of two times the unpaid amount, ordered by the Administrator and paid to the requester.

Notices and documents for industrial insurance hearings and appeals may now be provided through an electronic filing system complying with Nevada Supreme Court rules, in addition to mail or personal service.

Provisions apply prospectively to claims filed on or after October 1, 2025.
