Transportation network company (TNC) drivers must now obtain a driver's permit from the Nevada Transportation Authority using the same application process required for taxicab drivers, including fingerprint submission for FBI background checks and fees up to $50

Removes the separate background check system previously conducted by TNCs themselves, which included criminal history reviews, sex offender registry searches, and driving history checks every 1-3 years

Shifts regulatory oversight from the transportation network companies to the Nevada Transportation Authority for driver qualification, investigation, and permitting

TNCs must terminate any driver upon notification from the Authority that the driver has failed to comply with taxicab driver requirements under NRS Chapter 706

Requires a two-thirds majority vote for passage and has a fiscal effect on the state but not on local government
