Allows political subdivisions participating in a metropolitan police department merger to establish specialized law enforcement units consisting of officers that provide public safety services, in addition to existing units like marshals and park rangers

Grants officers in these new public safety units the powers of a peace officer, with jurisdiction limited to issuing citations, enforcing laws on property owned by the subdivision, serving arrest warrants, removing abandoned vehicles, and duties authorized by interlocal agreements with the county sheriff

Requires officers in public safety units in counties with populations of 700,000 or more (Clark County) to wear portable event recording devices (body cameras) while on duty and follow the same policies as other law enforcement agencies

Classifies these public safety officers as "police officers" for purposes of occupational disease provisions, making them eligible for related workers' compensation benefits

Subjects these officers to the same use-of-force reporting requirements and de-escalation training standards that apply to other law enforcement agencies in Nevada
