Establishes a Task Force on Adults with Autism within the Office of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities to study and develop recommendations for supporting adults with autism spectrum disorders in New York.

Task force shall focus on vocational, residential, and social needs of adult autism residents and submit a comprehensive plan to the Governor and Legislature by April 1, 2012.

Task force comprises nine members: five state officials (commissioners of Mental Hygiene, Health, Education, Labor, and Deputy Commissioner for Vocational/Educational Services) plus four members with autism expertise appointed by the Governor (2 members), Senate Temporary President (1 member), and Assembly Speaker (1 member).

Task force members receive no compensation but are reimbursed for actual and necessary expenses; the Mental Hygiene Commissioner serves as chairperson.

Act takes effect immediately and expires two years after the effective date.
